Respect and Enjoy the Wilderness

Hunting, camping, hiking, bird watching, mountain biking, snow shoeing, alpine skiing, snowmobiling, sledding… and just about anything else you can enjoy outdoors.

Hunting

Colorado Haven (in Colorado GMU 441) is an all-around hunter’s paradise, with 1600+ acres of private land (and vast surrounding public spaces) rich with elk, muledeer, speed goats (antelope), grouse, and varmints galore.

If you’re an elk hunter, this land has its own healthy resident herd and is also in the middle of the northwest Colorado Elk Migration. If your game of choice is deer, there are resident groups of muleys that roam freely through camp and all over the land.

Summer Activities

Anything you can do in the mountains and woods, you can do here. There are abundant, well-mapped trails for hiking, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities. And if camp is just too cushy and you want to dirt camp out in nature for a bit, there are innumerable choice camping sites. You will not believe the stars at night!

Winter Activities

Aside from hunting in the fall/winter, with camp as your base you can launch off on incredible snowmobile adventures covering all variety of terrains and snow conditions. The same can be said for snowshoeing, or fat tire biking, etc. Or just settle in by one of the outdoor fireplaces and sip your favorite beverage in front of a roaring wood fire.

Hunting Amenities

Aside from “camp” being just about the most comfortable place to stage your hunt from, Colorado Haven also has an abundance of features catering to a top-tier hunting experience.

Hunting Locations

Aside from the ability to stalk from the timber or knoll of your choice, there are multiple hard and soft blinds available, at some of the best spots on the land. The hard blinds are extremely sturdy, purpose built, and strategically located. The soft blinds are portable, spacious, and effective in all types of settings. Both types of blinds have propane heat for cold-weather mitigation.

Horse Corral

For those who enjoy hunting or trail riding on horseback, there is a small horse corral right in camp. You can see the corral directly, from any of the main structures.

Firearms Room

This room is an enclosed workshop space inside the shop building with tons of open-shelved storage, work benches, and three full-sized gun safes for pistols, rifles, and ammunition. This room remains at about a constant 50 degrees Fahrenheit, which also makes it a great year-round place to store wine and other beverages.

Shooting Ranges

Whether you’re zeroing to prepare for a hunt, training on pistols, plinking for fun, or going for precision at distance, these versatile ranges are at your disposal.

  • In-camp 25-yard pistol range

    • conveniently adjacent to the Pavilion
